1. Acceptance
Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and the operator of Psionis. In these Terms, “Psionis,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Psionis service, and “you” refers to the person using the service.
By creating an account, joining a household, accessing the website, or otherwise using Psionis, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Psionis.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Keep your account accurate and secure
Psionis is intended for adults managing household finances. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction. If you use Psionis on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind them to these Terms.
- Provide accurate, current account information and keep it updated.
- Use an email address you control and protect access to that email account.
- Keep your password confidential and do not share your login credentials.
- Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except where prohibited by law.
One person should not create accounts for others without their authorization. Psionis may require reasonable verification before processing sensitive account, ownership, or deletion requests.
3. Shared households
One shared budget requires shared responsibility
A Psionis household allows multiple people to work from the same budget. Household members can view and may be able to change shared information, including categories, folders, balances, paycheck information, transactions, transfers, and other budget activity.
Household owner
Each household has one owner. The owner can manage household membership and invitations and can permanently delete the entire household. An owner leaving a shared household must transfer ownership to another active member.
Household member
A member participates in the shared budget but cannot delete the entire household. A member can delete only their own account and household membership.
Invite only people you trust. You are responsible for understanding that information entered into a shared household is available to its other members. Disputes among household members about spending, entries, ownership, or access are primarily the responsibility of those household members.
4. Nature of the service
A planning tool—not a bank or financial adviser
Psionis helps you organize, allocate, and track information that you enter. It is not a bank, lender, payment processor, accounting firm, investment adviser, tax adviser, legal adviser, or credit-repair service.
Psionis does not hold, transfer, or control your money. Budget balances shown in the app are planning records and may not equal the balance at a financial institution. Psionis does not guarantee that using the service will prevent overspending, overdrafts, missed payments, fees, losses, or other financial consequences.
You remain responsible for your financial decisions, payment obligations, tax reporting, account balances, and verification of information with the appropriate financial institution or professional.
5. Manual entry and accuracy
No bank connection. By design.
Psionis does not connect directly to financial institutions or automatically import bank transactions. Manual tracking is an intentional part of the service, designed to encourage active review, deliberate spending, and less financial access being granted to another service.
Manual entry also means the quality of your budget depends on the completeness and accuracy of the information you and other household members enter. Review and reconcile your budget regularly. Psionis is not responsible for errors, omissions, duplicate entries, missed transactions, incorrect categories, or decisions based on inaccurate or outdated information.
Do not enter bank passwords, full bank-account numbers, full payment-card numbers, government identity numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive credentials into Psionis fields or support messages.
6. License and ownership
A limited right to use Psionis
Subject to these Terms, Psionis grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable right to access and use the service for lawful household budgeting purposes.
Psionis and its design, software, code, graphics, logos, text, features, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Psionis and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right granted above, no rights are transferred to you.
You retain ownership of information you enter into Psionis. You grant Psionis a limited right to host, process, transmit, display, and back up that information only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and to fulfill legal obligations.
7. Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully and responsibly
You may not use Psionis to:
- Break the law, facilitate fraud, or infringe another person's rights.
- Access another person's account or household without authorization.
- Submit malicious code, overload the service, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with operation.
- Reverse engineer, copy, modify, scrape, resell, or commercially exploit the service except where law permits.
- Impersonate another person or provide deceptive account, invitation, or support information.
- Use automated systems to access the service in a manner not expressly authorized by Psionis.
- Store unlawful material or unnecessary high-risk credentials in budget or support fields.
We may investigate suspected misuse and may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, households, Psionis, service providers, or the public.
8. Availability and changes
The service may evolve
We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features; perform maintenance; apply usage limits; or change how Psionis operates. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available access.
Internet, device, email, authentication, hosting, and database failures may affect access or synchronization. Keep your own records of information you cannot afford to lose and verify important financial information independently.
9. Third-party services and app stores
Other providers have their own terms
Psionis relies on third-party services for functions such as authentication, hosting, email delivery, infrastructure, and app distribution. Their services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
If you download Psionis through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the applicable store terms also apply. For an Apple download, Apple's standard end-user license agreement governs the app license unless a valid custom end-user license agreement is provided through Apple. These Terms govern your use of the Psionis service and do not change rights or obligations that cannot be changed under applicable app-store terms or law.
Psionis is responsible for the Psionis service. Apple, Google, and other service providers are not responsible for household disputes, budgeting decisions, or information entered into Psionis except as required by their own agreements or applicable law.
10. Deletion and termination
Leaving Psionis can have permanent consequences
- A household member may delete only their own account and membership.
- A shared-household owner must choose another active member as owner before deleting their account.
- A sole owner's account deletion also deletes the household and its associated budget data.
- The current owner may permanently delete an entire household and all member Psionis accounts.
Review the Account deletion page before deleting an account or household. Deletion cannot be undone. Limited records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, support, legal compliance, transaction integrity, or routine backup rotation as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these Terms, unlawful conduct, security threats, abuse, or prolonged inability to operate the service. Where practical and appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue.
11. Disclaimers
Psionis is provided as available
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psionis is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that calculations, balances, allocations, reminders, transaction records, or other outputs will always be complete or correct. No statement from Psionis creates a financial, accounting, tax, legal, investment, or fiduciary relationship.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
Reasonable limits on responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psionis and its operator, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, household disputes, overdrafts, fees, missed payments, or financial losses arising from or related to your use of—or inability to use—the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Psionis for all claims arising from or related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to Psionis during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Governing law
Michigan law governs these Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Subject to any rights that cannot be waived, disputes relating to these Terms or Psionis will be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Michigan.
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at support@psionis.com and make a good-faith effort to resolve the concern informally. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief when reasonably necessary.
14. Changes to these Terms
Keeping the agreement current
We may update these Terms when Psionis changes or when legal, security, or operational requirements change. Revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated date. When a change is material, we may also provide notice through the app, website, or email.
Continued use of Psionis after revised Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the service and delete your account before the updated Terms take effect, when reasonably possible.
