1. Scope
About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Psionis mobile application, the Psionis website, and related account, support, invitation, and email services. In this policy, “Psionis,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Psionis service.
By using Psionis, you provide information that is necessary to create an account, participate in a household, and maintain a shared budget. We aim to collect only the information needed to operate, secure, support, and improve those functions.
2. Information we collect
Information needed to operate Psionis
Account information
Your email address, authentication identifier, account status, and household role. Passwords are processed by Firebase Authentication. Psionis does not store your readable password in its budget database.
Household and invitation information
Household identifiers, owner or member status, member email addresses, invitation email addresses, invitation codes or tokens, invitation status, and expiration information.
Budget and financial-planning information
Paycheck amounts, budget categories and folders, allocation rules, balances, spending and savings amounts, transactions, transfers, reconciliation status, paycheck-distribution history, and other information you enter to maintain the household budget.
Device and activity information
A device identifier used by app features, login dates and times, and basic request or diagnostic information such as IP address, operating system, and error information when processed by our servers or infrastructure providers.
Support communications
Messages, screenshots, device details, app-version information, and other information you choose to provide when requesting help, reporting a problem, or requesting deletion.
Website information
Standard web-request information may be processed when you visit psionis.com, including IP address, browser information, request time, and the pages requested. The Psionis website does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers.
3. Bank connections
No bank connection. By design.
Psionis does not connect directly to financial institutions, import bank transactions, or request your bank username, bank password, account-routing credentials, or payment-card credentials.
You manually record the budgeting information needed by the app. Manual tracking is an intentional part of the Psionis method: it supports active review, deliberate spending, and less financial access being granted to another service.
You should not enter full bank-account numbers, full card numbers, bank passwords, or other banking credentials into transaction descriptions, category names, support messages, or other Psionis fields.
4. How we use information
Why Psionis processes your information
- To create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
- To create households, manage roles, and process household invitations.
- To store, calculate, display, and synchronize the household budget.
- To process transactions, transfers, allocations, reconciliations, and paycheck distributions.
- To send password-reset, invitation, security, support, and service-related messages.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, protect accounts, and maintain service reliability.
- To respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
- To comply with applicable law and enforce our terms and security requirements.
5. Household sharing
Information visible within your household
Psionis is a shared-household budgeting service. Members of the same household may see the household's categories, folders, balances, transactions, transfers, paycheck information, distribution history, invitations, member email addresses, and member roles.
When you join a household, information you add to the shared budget becomes available to the other members of that household. Household owners have additional account-management authority, including ownership transfer and permanent household deletion.
Use invitation codes only with people you intend to include in the household. Psionis is not responsible for how another household member uses information they can legitimately access through the shared household.
6. Service providers and disclosures
When information is processed by others
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes. We may provide information to service providers only as needed to operate and protect Psionis, including:
Google Firebase Authentication
Processes account authentication, identity tokens, password resets, and account deletion.
Application hosting and database providers
Host the Psionis application server, PostgreSQL database, backups, and related infrastructure.
Email-delivery providers
Deliver invitations, password-reset messages, support communications, and other service emails.
Cloudflare
Provides website hosting, DNS, network delivery, and security services for psionis.com.
Service providers may process information only to perform services for Psionis, subject to their own contracts, security controls, and privacy obligations. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect the rights and safety of users or others, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the security and integrity of Psionis.
If Psionis is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy and applicable law.
7. Security
How we work to protect information
Psionis uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include encrypted network connections, Firebase token verification, authenticated API requests, household-based data separation, role-based authorization for sensitive household actions, and access controls for application and database systems.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce risk and respond to suspected security issues. Contact support@psionis.com promptly if you believe your account or household has been accessed without permission.
8. Retention and deletion
How long information is kept
We retain account and household information while it is needed to provide Psionis. We may retain limited security, support, transaction-integrity, or legal records for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which they were created. Residual copies may remain temporarily in routine backups and logs until they are overwritten under normal retention schedules.
Household member
Deleting a member account removes that member's login and household membership. Shared budget records remain with the household because they belong to the shared household rather than to one individual member.
Shared-household owner
An owner who deletes their account must transfer ownership to another active member. The former owner's account is removed, while the household and its shared budget remain.
Sole owner
When the sole owner deletes their account, the household and its associated shared budget data are also permanently deleted.
Entire household
The current owner may permanently delete the household. This removes household members' Psionis accounts and the shared household budget data. This action cannot be undone.
You can begin deletion in the Psionis Account tab. You can also review the external request process at psionis.com/delete-account/ or email support@psionis.com. We may require reasonable verification before acting on an email request.
9. Your choices
Access, correction, and privacy requests
- Review your account email, household role, members, and invitations in the Account tab.
- Correct budget information by editing or reconciling it in the app.
- Change your password or use the password-reset process.
- Cancel pending invitations when that option is available to your household.
- Delete your account or, if you are the owner, delete the household.
- Contact support to ask about access, correction, deletion, or another privacy concern.
Some requests may be limited when information must be retained to protect security, preserve the rights of other household members, comply with law, or maintain records of a completed request.
10. Children's privacy
Psionis is intended for adults managing household finances
Psionis is not directed to children under 13 or to anyone below the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through Psionis without appropriate authorization.
11. Changes to this policy
Keeping this policy current
We may update this Privacy Policy when Psionis changes, when service providers change, or when legal or operational requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. When a change is material, we may also provide notice through the app, website, or email.
12. Contact
